情书 (Love Letter)

My parents' love story sounds like something out of an indie romance film — childhood best friends who reconnected years later and immigrated to America together to start a new life with the person they've always known. Set against the backdrop of a love letter that my dad wrote my mom in the '90s, I question if that kind of genuine and stable love will ever find me — the figure in this self-portrait has always been inspired by her parent's story, but, several heartbreaks later, now carries the weight of its generational expectations.
